The Buccoo Marine Park will remain closed on Thursday following a tragic incident that claimed the life of a young girl on Wednesday.
Speaking during a Facebook Live address on Wednesday evening, Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Chief Secretary Farley Augustine extended condolences to the Jogie family after the death of their daughter, Angelica.
He confirmed that a collision involving a jet ski occurred at Pigeon Point Heritage Park, in an area designated for bathing.
The child was rushed to Scarborough General Hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police have launched a search for the jet ski operator, who fled the scene after the collision, abandoning the jet ski.
Chief Secretary Augustine also announced that the entire Buccoo Marine Park, including Pigeon Point, will be closed on Thursday to facilitate the investigation.
He urged the jet ski operator to come forward and surrender to the police.
