San Fernando TML Mourns Death Of Student Angelica Jogie In Jet Ski Incident In Tobago

Acting Principal of the San Fernando TML Primary School, Wahida Mohammed-Narine, said the entire school community is heartbroken following the tragic death of seven-year-old student Angelica Jogie.

In a letter addressed to parents and students on April 9th, Ms Mohammed-Narine described Angelica as an ‘A’ student, beautiful, well-disciplined, and full of promise.

The Acting Principal noted that the Ministry of Education, the Victoria Education District, and the Student Support Services Division have committed to providing ongoing guidance and counselling for students, teachers, and staff.

A 32-year-old man is in police custody in connection with Wednesday’s fatal jet ski incident at Pigeon Point Heritage Park in Tobago.

Reports indicate the jet ski operator fled the scene after the collision, abandoning the vessel, which has since been confiscated by Crown Point Police.

Relatives say the child was inside the designated bathing area near the perimeter rope when a jet ski breached the barrier and struck the family.

The Pigeon Point Heritage Park and Buccoo Marine Park are closed today to facilitate investigations.
