Round Two of the West Indies Championships bowled off today with the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force taking on the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
The Red Force coming off a win in their opening match won the toss and invited the home team to bat first and they made early inroads with the Leewards at 7 for 66 by the 22nd over. Karima Gore and Jeremiah Louis offered some resistance hitting 57 and 19 respectively as the Leewards closed on 131 all out. Anderson Phillip was the main destroyer with 6 wickets at the cost of 38 runs. Jayden Seales supported well with 3 for 33.
In reply Trinidad and Tobago failed to fully take advantage of the favourable position and closed the day on 85 for 6, still 46 runs behind as Kelvin Pitman ripped through the top order to end the day with figures of 4 for 20. Hope for a first innings lead for Red Force rest with Captain Joshua Da Silva who is not out on 18 along with Anderson Phillip on 2.
