After 15 years on Cricket West Indies’ second-tier umpire panel, Jamaican Christopher Taylor has earned a spot on the ICC’s International Umpires Panel.
Jamaican Christopher Taylor has earned his promotion to the ICC International Umpires Panel after completing the ICC’s full accreditation process, with his performance during Pakistan’s President’s Trophy competition rated as outstanding.
Taylor began officiating in 2006 and has spent 15 years on the regional second-tier panel. Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring says the appointment reflects both Taylor’s professionalism and the strength of the region’s officiating pathway.
Taylor himself is using the moment to encourage younger people to consider umpiring as a career, not just in their thirties and forties but as early as eighteen.
He will make his international debut during the upcoming West Indies home season.
