The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO) is making it clear that no elections have been called.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the organisation says there is currently no official election process underway, and no nominations or candidate registrations have taken place.
The clarification comes amid reports of individuals presenting themselves publicly as candidates and engaging media interviews.
TUCO says any such claims are premature and not recognised by the organisation.
The body adds it was prompted to respond following several queries from media houses seeking confirmation on the matter.
TUCO is now urging both members and the public to avoid spreading misinformation, and is reminding media practitioners to verify all election-related claims with authorised representatives.
The organisation says when elections are officially called, all relevant details will be communicated through its established channels.
