Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has hailed mothers as the “emotional foundation of our homes” and vowed to continue action to improve conditions for families and children.
In her Mother’s Day message, the Prime Minister said she understands deeply the hopes and concerns of mothers every day, noting that every mother wants her child to feel safe, receive a good education and grow up with dignity, stability and hope for the future.
She assured that the Government is expanding educational initiatives, including the national laptop programme, and taking steps to confront school violence and bullying, while working to create safer communities and expand economic opportunities.
