Kenyan long-distance runner Alex Ekesa delivered a stunning performance at the Bafasports Midnight Marathon on Sunday morning, breaking his own course record to secure back-to-back titles.
Running in the early hours on Mother’s Day, Ekesa surged ahead from the opening lap around the Queen’s Park Savannah. He crossed the finish line at the National Carnival Committee Foyer in two hours, twenty-eight minutes and forty-five seconds, beating his previous record set in 2025.
Finishing second overall in the men’s category was Colin Pereira, while Keron Ragbirsingh claimed third.
On the women’s side, Colombian runner Palmenia Agudelo successfully defended her title, clocking a time of three hours, one minute and twenty-two seconds.
