The search for the body of two-year-old Angelo Tobias Plaza continues.
Answering an Urgent Question in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander updated the House of Representatives on the status of the investigation into the missing toddler of Goodwood, Tobago.
“This investigation is continuing, the immediate search for the child continues. There are a number of agencies involved in this operation, including the Tobago investigative arm, the Fire Service, the Trinidad and Tobago Emergency Management, the Coast Guard along with the Trinidad and Tobago Child Protection Unit and the Homicide. Mr. Speaker, as the investigation continues, we will be able to update the members of the public with the investigation. The child has not been found just yet, however, investigation continues.”
According to police reports, the child was reported missing by his 22-year-old mother, Kalifah Tobias, around 7:30pm on Monday. An immediate search began but yielded no results.
His body was sighted at sea on Tuesday. However, search and recovery efforts were hampered by rough seas on Tuesday and Wednesday.
