PCOS Renamed To PMOS

According to the World Health Organization polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects roughly 10 percent of women worldwide, but in the Caribbean region prevalence rates are notably higher.

With specific populations reaching between 20 and 24 percent.

Consultant OB/GYN, Dr. Roshni Bissoondatt explained that PCOS was renamed to PMOS on May 12, 2026 and why.
