As the nation prepares to commemorate Indian Arrival Day on May 30th, concerns are growing that parts of Trinidad and Tobago’s indentureship history are being lost.
Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at the The University of the West Indies, Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, says oral histories and relics tied to the indentureship experience are disappearing, leaving younger generations disconnected from the sacrifices of their ancestors.
