Four Arrested, Firearm Seized Following Home Invasion In Wallerfield

Four suspects, including two juveniles, have been arrested and a shotgun seized following a home invasion in Wallerfield on Wednesday 20th May, 2026.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, officers of the Northern Division Task Force, Inter-Agency Task Force, and Home Invasion Team conducted an intelligence-led operation in the Pinto district shortly after the incident.

Police said the victim, a 28-year-old Venezuelan woman of Demerara Road, Wallerfield, reported that around 11:10 a.m. she was outside her home when she observed four men emerging from nearby bushes, one of whom was armed with a firearm. The woman reportedly ran inside and secured the house, but the suspects forced entry by breaking down the front door.

Investigators said the men announced a robbery, held the victim at gunpoint, and stole a quantity of jewellery, including a gold chain, earrings, a watch, and TT$5,000 in cash before fleeing through nearby bushes.

The subsequent police exercise was spearheaded by Superintendent McKenzie and ASP Balewa, coordinated by Inspector David and Sgt. Trancoso, and supervised by Sgt. Sahadeo, Cpl. Dedier, and PC Joseph.

Police confirmed that four suspects were arrested during the operation and a shotgun firearm was recovered.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
