Although ANSA Bank Ltd has recorded continued losses, the ANSA Merchant Bank Ltd Group has recorded a 49% year on year increase in profit.
Given the group’s financial standing, it said it will pay dividends to its shareholders for the 2025 financial year.
Managing Director of ANSA Merchant Bank Limited, Stephen Grell, outlined the financial institution’s economic performance for 2025 during the company’s Annual General Meeting on Friday.
“In 2025, we delivered profit of $996.4 million, representing a 12% increase year on year, with a return of shareholders’ equity of 6.3%. Importantly, this was achieved despite a decline in the loan portfolio and lower interest income, as the business benefited from disciplined cost management, including a 16% reduction in operating costs to $88.6 million.”
Formed just five years ago, ANSA Bank recorded another loss, but Mr. Grell noted that there have been improvements.
“ANSA Bank also showed a clear improvement in financial performance, with the loss for the year reducing from $22.5 million in 2024 to $6.5 million in 2025. That improvement reflects the direction of travel we all want to see.”
ANSA Merchant Bank Limited will pay a $1.20 dividend to its shareholders.
