The Young Women’s Christian Association hosted its annual health fair offering everything from mental health advice to essential preventative screening. Beyond immediate medical care, the initiative also targeted youth empowerment and critical chronic illness support groups.
Faith Cheruiyot has the details in this report.
From vaccinations and basic health screenings to HIV and vision testing, the Young Women’s Christian Association brought together an array of medical professionals for its annual health fair.
Dr. Simone Quamina says the women-led organization is heavily pushing a message of proactive, everyday wellness.
Alongside physical wellness, the YWCA is focusing on its longevity by actively recruiting the next generation to join its ranks.
Specialized support was also a major highlight of the fair. Representatives from the Trinidad and Tobago Endometriosis Association were on hand, urging those battling the condition to lean on the group for community and care.
YMCA and TTEA are urging those who want to get involved with the Associations and their efforts to find more information on their respective social media pages.
