Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh is calling for a reimagining of Trinidad and Tobago’s justice system, one that is modern, accessible and people-centred.
Delivering the keynote address at the Law Association’s Biennial Conference on Friday, the Chief Justice outlined a vision focused on court reform, greater accountability and the responsible use of technology.
The Chief Justice also highlighted several areas of focus for the Judiciary, including ongoing consultations on the Civil Proceedings Rules, upcoming consultations on Family Rules, reforms to the Small Claims framework and continued efforts to modernise criminal procedure.
He stressed that while change is coming, the core values of fairness, independence and timely justice must remain the foundation of the system.
