Attorney General Receives Courtesy Visit From Newly Appointed Chargé d’Affaires Of The United States Embassy, Port-of-Spain

Earlier today, Philip Kern, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy, Port-of-Spain paid a courtesy visit on the Attorney General, Senator the Honourable John Jeremie SC., at the Office of the Attorney General in Port-of-Spain.

Mr. Kern was accompanied by Mr. Scott Hansen, Political and Economic Counselor, while the Attorney General was accompanied by Ms. Indira Rampaul Cheddie, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) and Dr. Timothy Affonso, Administrator General, International Law & Treaties.

Mr. Kern recognized the longstanding relationship between both countries and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to working closely with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to address shared security threats. The meeting underscored the importance of continued cooperation in investigating and interdicting narco-trafficking, combating financial crime and disrupting the activities of transnational criminal organizations.

As close partners, the United States and Trinidad and Tobago remain committed to advancing coordinated efforts that enhance regional security, strengthen justice systems, and promote a safer
and more resilient Caribbean. Discussions were centered around ongoing collaboration related to regional security and stability.
