Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Ravi Ratiram will present Trinidad and Tobago’s perspective on the critical role wetlands play in safeguarding livelihoods at the Regional High-Level Dialogue for Effective Governance and Management of Caribbean Wetlands, now underway in Jamaica.
The dialogue is focused on strengthening policy frameworks, advancing ecosystem-based management, fostering regional cooperation and promoting the sustainable use of wetlands to support biodiversity, food security and climate resilience across the Caribbean.
As part of the programme, Minister Ratiram is expected to participate in a ministerial panel discussion, where he will highlight Trinidad and Tobago’s approach to sustainable natural resource management and underscore the importance of wetlands in protecting livelihoods, supporting fisheries and advancing environmental sustainability.
