Mr. Nigel Phillips of the Division of Community Development, Diversity, and Social Protection joins Trinidad and Tobago Today to discuss ‘Strength Beyond Our Limits’, a self-defence camp designed to empower persons with disabilities in Tobago.
He highlights how the initiative combined practical self-defence techniques with lessons on personal boundaries, consent and abuse prevention, reflects on the participants’ growth in confidence and independence, and outlines the Division’s plans to expand inclusive programmes that promote safety, empowerment and social inclusion.
