The Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with the world premiere of DANM, a psychological horror film that reimagines the legend of La Diablesse. Writer and director Teneille Newallo and actress Shevonne Metivier join Virmala to discuss the film’s exploration of motherhood, grief, identity and inherited trauma, as well as the importance of telling Caribbean stories through a local lens.
Shot entirely in Trinidad and Tobago, DANM will be screened as TTFF’s Opening Night Gala Film on September 22 at the Central Bank Auditorium.
