Two Trinidad and Tobago Regiment soldiers from the First Infantry Battalion (1TTR) rescued five civilians who encountered difficulty in the waters off Blanchisseuse Beach on Saturday.
During a routine patrol near the Blanchisseuse Community Centre, the soldiers observed two children and an adult male struggling in the water. The Sergeant secured a life ring and managed the rescue from shore, while the Lance Corporal, a patrol medic, entered the water and assisted the three individuals to safety.
All five civilians were assessed by the patrol medic and found to be in good health.
