Chief Justice of Trinidad and Tobago, the Honourable Mr. Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh, and members of the Judiciary’s Court
Administration team met with the Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), Mr. Farley Augustine, and members of the THA Executive at the Office of the Chief Secretary in Scarborough, Tobago, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The meeting formed part of the Judiciary’s ongoing engagement and collaboration with stakeholders, including the THA, with a focus on strengthening court infrastructure and supporting the effective delivery of justice in Tobago.
Discussions centred on matters relating to the provision of additional facilities for court operations, including Virtual Access Customer Centres, assistance from the THA regarding property maintenance, and public outreach programmes to inform and
educate citizens about court services.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the Judiciary and the THA to strengthen their partnership and explore areas for continued collaboration in support of the administration of justice in Tobago.
The Judiciary remains committed to working collaboratively with the Tobago House of Assembly and other justice sector stakeholders to advance initiatives that support the efficient and effective delivery of justice in Tobago.
While in Tobago, the Chief Justice and members of the Court Administration team will tour court buildings to assess their readiness for in-person court operations from September 1, 2026.
