Independence Day observances also took place in Tobago today, with the traditional parade marking Trinidad and Tobago’s 64th year as an independent nation.
The ceremony brought together members of the island’s uniformed services for the formal proceedings.
Chief Secretary Farley Chavez Augustine attended the ceremony and took the salute as the parade got underway.
Members of the various detachments stood in formation as the proceedings continued.
The Chief Secretary then inspected the ranks, moving along the formations as officers and members of the uniformed services remained at attention.
The inspection formed part of the official Independence Day ceremony in Tobago, as the island joined national celebrations marking 64 years of Independence.
The parade continued with the participation of the uniformed services and other ceremonial elements.
