Special Operations Bill To Introduce Permit System For Closed Areas

Access to areas designated for special operations could soon be tightly controlled, as Attorney General John Jeremie says the Special Operations Bill 2026 provides for a mandatory permit system to regulate and monitor who is allowed to enter these zones.

The announcement was made during Friday’s 7th Sitting of the House of Representatives, where the Special Operations Bill 2026 was being debated.

“Clause 14 gives the president the power by order subject to negative resolutions of a house to to institute a curfew within a closed area, the order may require residents within a closed area to remain indoors during designated hours unless they obtain a permit again that order can be annulled by the house or revoked by the president at any time.”
