Caribbean Airlines will launch a weekly non-stop Tobago-Toronto service on October 25th, resume flights between Trinidad and Caracas on October 31st, and operate seasonal charter flights between Trinidad and Panama from December 1st, 2026, to February 9th, 2027.
Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Eli Zakour made the announcement in the Senate on Friday, describing the new services as part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to improve regional and international connectivity.
“This will restore direct air connectivity between our neighbouring countries and facilitate business travel and tourism. These flights will provide additional travel options during Christmas and Carnival periods while supporting tourism and trade.”
The Minister also announced that Government has approved seven Air Services Agreements with Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Panama and Rwanda.
“Of these seven agreements, five have already been signed. Rwanda in September 2025, the Dominican Republic in May 2026, and Mr President, between September 21st and September 23rd, 2026 alone, Ghana, Panama and Chile. That represents three Air Service Agreements signed within just three days and five agreements signed within the space of one year.”
Minister Zakour said the agreements reflect Government’s commitment to strengthening this country’s bilateral aviation framework to support travel, trade and tourism, while creating opportunities for new airlines and services to enter the local market.
“In February 2026, Windward Islands Airways International, commonly known as Winair, commenced twice-weekly service between Sint Maarten and Trinidad. In March 2026, Inter Caribbean Airways commenced four times weekly between Barbados and Trinidad. Contour Airlines is scheduled to commence twice-weekly service between Dominica and Trinidad on October 5th, 2026. Additionally, Suriname Airways is expected to commence twice-weekly scheduled service between Suriname and Trinidad in November 2026.”
Minister Zakour also announced that the National Helicopter Services Limited, which currently operates from its base at Camden, Couva, will expand its operations with the opening of an office at the Piarco International Airport on October 7th, 2026.
