Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary Farley Augustine confirmed that he will announce the date for the opening of the new ANR Robinson International Airport Terminal within “a day or 2”.
Speaking during Episode 2 of the Office of the Chief Secretary’s Mic’d Matters podcast on Monday, Mr Augustine said the airport is ready for operations. However, he expressed concern about displaced vendors, noting that they have not been forgotten.
“One of the reasons why I haven’t met with them as yet is because I want to get the conceptual designs for those 50 units that we want to provide for those relocated and not yet living anywhere. I want to be able to show them something. I don’t want to just call them to just an actual meeting and just tell them. I want to show them exactly what we’re going to do, and I haven’t received those designs as yet.”
The Chief Secretary said those vendors will be among the first to be invited to the official opening of the terminal building.
Previously, Chief Secretary Augustine told the media that the terminal would be ready in time for Tobago’s Carnival in October 2026.
The terminal was officially handed over to the Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago in June 2026.
