T&T Netballers Finish Americas Qualifiers With Seven Straight Wins

Trinidad and Tobago’s netballers completed a perfect run on the final night of competition in the Americas Qualifiers for the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027.

Already assured of a berth at the World Cup, T&T went into Monday night’s match aiming to maintain its perfect record and did just that with a clinical performance against hosts Barbados at the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex in Bridgetown.

The Calypso Girls secured a 60-51 victory, with another stellar performance led by captain Kalifa McCollin and goal-shoot Maikea Bramble.

T&T led throughout and pulled away with a dominant second quarter, taking a 10-goal lead into half-time at 32-22. By the end of the third quarter, the score was 48-35. Despite a late push from the heavily supported home team, Trinidad and Tobago held on for the nine-goal triumph, finishing the qualifiers with seven wins from seven matches.

The team is scheduled to return to Trinidad this evening, arriving at Piarco International Airport at 6:55pm.
