Tribute Ride For Photographer Anthony Harris At QPS

The Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation held a tribute ride around the Queen’s Park Savannah in honour of Anthony Harris, the freelance sport photographer who was killed over the weekend following a vehicular accident.

As the cycling and media fraternities continue to celebrate Harris’ life, several cyclists of varying ages showed up to lend support to his family.

TTCF Vice President, Desmond Roberts, said his mandate in 2022 is to improve safety for cyclists and gave assurances that, among other things a TTPS-assisted TV campaign will address the issue.

The group, led by the more experienced riders, made seven laps of the Savannah, utilising the inner lane which remains available to road cyclists from Monday to Friday between 4am and 6am and 8:30pm and 10:30pm. And on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays from 5am to 9am.

The ride proceeded at a leisurely pace, was incident-free, and served as a reminder to motorists that they share the road with a large community of cyclists.
