Attorney General Reginal Armour SC hosted today’s Media Conference on matters relating to the Firearms Audit Report. He said there must be fair, balanced and responsible reporting on this issue.
The Attorney General said the Government wants the Firearms Audit Report dealt with as expeditiously as possible. He said he advised Cabinet that an appropriate person or body of persons should review the Firearms Audit Report and invite comments from persons who are negatively affected. After which, a decision will be taken on what next is to happen with the report, including the timing, in a fair manner, for it to be laid in the Parliament.
The AG stressed that the Firearms Audit Report or any Summary will not be laid in a manner “as to prejudice its value as an investigative audit.”
