China-Trinidad and Tobago Friendship Day & Awards

On Friday, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China of Trinidad and Tobago, celebrated 50 years of diplomatic ties with the fourth China-Trinidad and Tobago Friendship Day Reception and Awards Ceremony.

Opening the ceremony was Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Yang Han. He reminded guests of the bonds of cooperation and common development between the two nations that cover technical assistance, grants, concessional financing, and infrastructure development.

Since the arrival of the first Chinese immigrants in 1806, there’s been impactful cultural exchange between the two nations. Permanent Secretary of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Reita Toussaint, shared some notable cultural moments.
