Classic, Antique and Vintage Vehicles To Be Legalised For Road Use

The government is seeking to regularise and modernise regulations when it comes to classic and antique vehicles.

At Thursday’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing, Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Eli Zakour said a legal framework is being drafted to allow these vehicles to be used freely on the nation’s roads.

“Beginning with the creation of a formal classification and registry system to facilitate the safe and limited use of classic, antique, and vintage vehicles on our nation’s roads. This initiative aligns with the government’s strategic objective for transport modernisation, heritage preservation, and tourism diversification. There will be three legal categories: classic motor vehicles, which will be vehicles 25 years old from the date of original manufacture; antique motor vehicles, at least 45 years old from the date of original manufacture; and vintage motor vehicles, at least 95 years old.”
