Former People’s National Movement Member of Parliament for Laventille West, NiLeung Hypolite has died.
Mr. Hypolite died on Saturday after recently being diagnosed with Acute Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
He required a bone marrow transplant, and made a public appeal to get the funds for the required treatment abroad.
Mr. Hypolite was first elected to the House of Representatives on November 5th 2007, representing Laventille West in the Ninth Parliament. He was also a Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Transport. Mr. Hypolite, also served as an Opposition MP as he was one of 12 PNM MP’S re-elected on May 24, 2010.
