Media Association of T&T Elects Prior Beharry As Its President

The Media Association of Trinidad and Tobago has a new President and it is also now a registered Non-Governmental Organisation.

The NGO revelation was made following the election of Prior Beharry as new president.

Outgoing interim President Dale Enoch in delivering remarks noted that both local and international media are in crisis.

He referred in particular to the official shutting down of the Newsday Newspaper after 32 years of operation.

Newly elected President Prior Beharry says he and his team are going to hit the ground running on issues that matter to journalists and media workers.

His elected team is Kejan Haynes, Vice President, Vindar Suraj, Treasurer, Phillip Matheson, Secretary, Shivanni Lall, Assistant Secretary and Jermaine Cruickshank and Yvonne Webb, Floor members.

Mr Beharry notes that one of the first priorities is assisting Newsday staff.
