TKR Lose To Patriots In Guyana

The Trinbago Knight Riders have now put themselves in a corner after surrendering to the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Providence in Guyana earlier today.

Batting first, the Patriots were going at a leisurely pace recording only 94 runs after 17 overs. However, Sherfane Rutherford’s rapid 78 along with Dewald Brevis’ monstrous 30 from just six balls, ensured they achieved a challenging 163 for 6 from their 20 overs.

The TKR, chasing a much-needed two points, continued to have a poor powerplay losing two wickets for 22 runs. Tim Siefert anchored the innings with a well played 59 but lacked support as wickets tumbled. It was left up to Andre Russell to get 20 runs in the final over but the weight was to much to bear. He was bowled for 29 and the TKR surrendered at 156 for 7, falling short by seven runs.
