The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s Tobago Division is looking forward to the Central Government’s Budget presentation on Monday.
Chairman Curtis Williams told TTT News there are several low-hanging fruits they hope will be highlighted.
“Treating with the opening of the new terminal building. We are talking about putting some emphasis on direct investment in terms of hotels on the island so a boost in tourism in that area. We are also speaking about addressing the THA and some of their debts that they have. We are talking about additional funding treat with some of the debts. We definitely want to see some of that happening in the space.”
Mr. Williams also noted that the land license matter in Tobago needs to be addressed.
“So investors can come in and gain property to do development in Tobago. So we are looking at if we can get the land licence to be controlled by the Tobago House of Assembly.”
