Minister of Homeland Security, Roger Alexander, has confirmed that 153 persons were arrested under the previous State of Emergency, which ran from July 18th, 2025, to January 31st, 2026.
Responding to a question in the Upper House on Tuesday, he said 29 of those persons have been formally charged.
“A total of 29 persons who were detained under the Prevention Detection Orders have been formally charged for various offences. These matters are still pending.”
Minister Alexander said, to date, 20 persons remain in custody at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Centre on remand warrants.
