19-Year-Old Woman Dies In Early Morning Crash In Port Of Spain

A 19-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident in Port of Spain in the early hours of Wednesday.

Four others were injured when a car and a bus collided at the intersection of Henry and Park Streets.

According to police reports, the crash occurred just before 4am when a black Honda Vezel heading east along Park Street was struck by a PTSC bus. The driver lost control and crashed into a traffic light and an electricity pole before the vehicle flipped and landed on the pavement.

The occupants of the vehicle were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital by emergency responders.

Nineteen-year-old Lysanne Julien later succumbed to her injuries. The driver, 25-year-old Che Ferraz of San Fernando, a female passenger, and two male passengers sustained injuries.

The front end of the PTSC bus was damaged in the collision.
