2025 Indigenous Peoples Conference To Tackle Reparations And Cultural Unity

“Celebrating the resilience of the Indigenous Peoples of the Caribbean: Advocating for Reparations for Native Genocide and Enslavement” is the theme of the Indigenous Peoples Conference 2025.

Chief of the Santa Rosa First Peoples, Chief Ricardo Bharath Hernandez, said the discussion will focus on reparations for Indigenous Peoples and persons of African descent, indigenous identity, cultural preservation, ancestral knowledge, and the significance of unity among Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities.

The Indigenous Peoples Conference 2025 is part of a week-long of activities leading up to the Indigenous Peoples Day on October 14th. The conference will bring together indigenous leaders, scholars, diplomats, and government representatives for two days of dialogue, cultural exchange, and advocacy.

The conference takes place on October 6th and 7th at the NALIS La Horquetta Public Library.
