In what the Minister of Finance termed ” the shortest wind-up ever of a national budget” the 2026 fiscal allocation has now been referred to the Standing Finance Committee. This follows just one day of debate in the Lower House which concluded at 2 a.m. on Saturday. Minister Davendranath Tancoo commended fellow government members for their participation in the debate.
