A 24-year-old policeman died in a road traffic accident on Saturday night.
He was identified as Police Constable Sheem Aaron Williams, of Harry-Goland Street in Carapichaima.
The accident occurred at around 10pm on the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Freeport.
According to reports, PC Williams, who was off duty, was riding his motorbike in a northerly direction when he lost control and crashed into the barrier separating the northbound and southbound lanes near the T&TEC substation.
His body was found on the road.
PC Williams was last posted at the Cunupia CID.
The accident caused motorists heading north on the highway to be stuck in traffic for several hours.
