Dr Radica Mahase, historian, educator, and social advocate, joins us to discuss the work of Support Autism T&T, the non-governmental organisation she founded 11 years ago. Drawing on her experience as a caregiver to her autistic nephew, Rahul, Dr Mahase reflects on the challenges families face in accessing diagnosis, education, and therapy, and how these experiences led to the creation of Support Autism T&T and Rahul’s Clubhouse.
The interview also highlights the launch of registration for the Autism 5K Run & Fun Walk 2026, the purpose of the event, and why community partnerships and public support are vital to sustaining programmes for children on the autism spectrum.
