With just over one week to go, the budget for the 2024 Tobago October Carnival has been revealed.
After many calls from stakeholders in the last few weeks demanding this information, Assistant Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, Niall George, made the announcement during the THA’s Post Executive Media Briefing on Wednesday.
In 2023, the THA allocated $12 million for the event. Assistant Secretary George said included in the $9 million spend is support for Carnival stakeholders. Touching on final plans, Mr. George said the Carnival route remains the same but explained there will be a shift in the “Mud is Life” event which will now take place on Friday October 25th.
