Kung-Fu Workshop Inspires Youngsters In Tobago

Martial arts are a healthy and productive alternative for children and adults who would prefer this discipline over others.

Over the Easter weekend, around 40 children in Tobago had the opportunity to learn more about ancient Chinese martial arts with a one-day kung-fu workshop.

The youngsters were put through their paces at the Pentecostal Light and Life School in Scarborough under the tutelage of Sifu Rahman Khabir, who has spent most of his life based in the United States.

The Bermuda-born Sifu Rahman started martial arts in the 1960s and has been teaching many styles of martial arts in T&T for the past 30 years.

From technique to breathing, the students were receptive and picked things up quickly.
