The Senate has passed the Prime Minister’s Pension (Amendment) Bill with 20 votes in favour, none against, and 10 abstentions.
The vote was taken just before 7pm on Monday.
As Ayanna Carter tells us in this report, the government senators laid the case for the bill to be passed, citing the importance of creating a fair system in line with established human resource practices in the Trinidad and Tobago Public Service, as well as regional and international examples of its establishment.
