Education Minister Dr. Michael Dowlath said his Ministry will be providing a digital revolution for the students of Trinidad and Tobago.
He was at the time addressing party supporters at the United National Congress political meeting in the Siparia constituency on Monday.
“We are in the process of procuring 18,000 laptops, not with minimum specs, but with high-performance specifications that can run learning platforms, productivity tools and AI-powered applications. Our laptops will be AI-ready.”
Dr. Dowlath said the Schools’ Vacation Repair Programme has already begun. He noted that an additional $83 million has been allocated through the mid-year review.
“To roll out a universal screening programme for all children between the ages of four to six years old. And this will identify their learning difficulties and those who are developmentally challenged. It will identify their emotional needs. And we are not waiting for the children to fail. We are ensuring that we are diagnosing their issues up front.”
