Attorney Charged With Grievous Sexual Assault And Indecent Assault Granted Bail

An Attorney appeared before Master Indira Chinebas at the Port of Spain North Court E earlier today, Wednesday 9th July, 2025, charged with the offences of Grievous Sexual Assault and Indecent Assault.

Martin George was granted bail in the sum of $150,000, with a surety, and as part of the bail conditions, the accused is prohibited from contacting the virtual complainant directly or indirectly and must maintain a distance of at least 500 metres from the complainant. The matter has been postponed to 7th October, 2025, for a status hearing.

The charges stem from a report of Grievous Sexual Assault and Indecent Assault made to the police on 22nd March, 2025. Following extensive investigations, an exercise was conducted between 2:40 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday 8th July, 2025. During the exercise, officers proceeded to Dundonald Street, Port of Spain, where they met with a male suspect. The officers identified themselves and informed the man that they were conducting an investigation into a report of Grievous Sexual Assault and Indecent Assault, which allegedly occurred on Saturday 22nd March, 2025 at the same address. The man was cautioned, then arrested, and was subsequently taken to the Besson Street Police Station where he was formally
charged with the offences.

The operation was coordinated by Snr Supt Thom, Supt Baird, and ASP Mungroo, and directly supervised by Insp Durga, Sgt Bhagwandeen, Sgt Masleir, Cpl Purcell, W A/CPL Ashby, along with PC Rambaran and other officers attached to the CID Area East.
