New UTT Board Appointed: Professor Selwyn Cudjoe Named Chairman

The Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training (MTEST) issued letters of appointment to the new Chairman and Governors of the Board of the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) on Friday, 15th August 2025, at the Education Towers, Port of Spain. The new Board will serve for a period of three (3) years.

As an institution of higher learning and research, UTT provides training and educational services at the undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral levels, along with research and other services through contributions from the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, corporate donors and sponsoring organisations, and under contracts with various clients. Senator Professor the Honourable Prakash Persad, Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, in congratulating the new board, encouraged collective responsibility and collegiality as he highlighted that “UTT is about mixing different talents together and becoming a catalyst for the economic development of Trinidad and Tobago.” Also in attendance were MTEST’s Parliamentary Secretary – Mr. Hansen Narinesingh, and Permanent Secretary – Mr. Kurt Meyer.
