A victim of an acid attack on Monday remains in critical condition in hospital.
The 20-year-old Rio Claro woman was standing near Scotiabank on Naparima Mayaro Road when she was suddenly approached by a man in a green CEPEP jacket, who threw a liquid on her before fleeing the scene.
The young woman was rushed to the nearby Rio Claro Health Facility for treatment.
Police responding to the scene found a bottle of muriatic acid – a diluted solution of hydrochloric acid typically used in cleaning supplies – which was used in the attack.
The suspect is yet to be apprehended.
