It was another tough day at the stadium for Trinidad and Tobago teams in the Caribbean Football Union Girls’ Under-14 Challenge Series, with both the national team and the high-performance unit suffering defeats on Sunday.
The national team was in action at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain and had their hopes of advancing from the Group stage dashed by Bermuda, who came away with a 2–0 win.
Mia Daponte opened the scoring moments before the half, as T&T went in 1–0 down. The final goal of the match came in the 68th minute when Avery Taylor took a free kick, beating both defender and goalkeeper.
It was worse for the high-performance home team at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, as they went down 8–0 to Puerto Rico in their Tier I Group A encounter.
