Prime Minister Extends Ganesh Utsav Greetings To Hindu Community At Home And Abroad

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is extending greetings to the Hindu community both locally and abroad as they celebrate ‘Ganesh Utsav’ – the birth of Lord Ganesha.

In her message, Mrs. Persad-Bissessar acknowledged the growing significance of the festival on the national calendar, which she said now stands proudly alongside other major religious observances, such as Divali, Eid, Easter, and Christmas.

She also commended the festival’s unique blend of devotion and environmental awareness, highlighting the use of biodegradable murtis.

The Prime Minister noted that in Hinduism, the teachings of Lord Ganesha remind people to meet life’s challenges with courage and to walk with humility and wisdom, adding that this can serve as guiding principles for national progress.
