Two United States citizens deported from Trinidad and Tobago returned to the United States to face federal charges for drug trafficking and failure to appear in court.
Thirty-three-year-old Tevin Williams and 27-year-old Zakiya Williams, were escorted by US special agents and officers from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on August 22nd to a US-bound flight at the Piarco International Airport.
According to a social media post by the US Embassy, the fugitives were charged in California and New York in September 2023 and, after being granted pretrial release, fled the country.
They were located residing illegally at Arjoonsingh Drive, Palmiste, and arrested on August 19th. The Ministry of Homeland Security issued a deportation order on August 21st 2025.
