Tableland Man Appears In Court For Forgery Offences

A Tableland man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with two counts of Forgery.

Neil Barrington was charged with Possession of a Forged Document and Uttering of a Forged Document, when he appeared before Master Lisa Singh-Phillip on Wednesday September 17th, 2025.

He was not called upon to plead and granted bail with surety in the sum of $70,000.

The matter was postponed to February 24th, 2026.

Reports indicate that Transport Division personnel were performing patrol duties along the Priority Bus Route, in Tacarigua, on April 14th, 2025, when they stopped a man driving a vehicle which was outfitted with light bars attached to the windscreen.

The man is alleged to have produced a document purporting to have been issued by the Licensing Division authorising the use of the said lights.

Checks subsequently revealed that the document was fraudulent.

An exercise, conducted by officers of the Fraud Squad in the Southern Division on Tuesday 16th September, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a male suspect.

Barrington was subsequently charged with the two offences by WPC Irish of the Fraud Squad.

Investigations were spearheaded by DCP Intelligence and Investigations, Suzette Martin, ACP White Collar Crime, Denis Knutt, supervised by Snr. Supt. Michael Jackman, Supt. Arnold Lutchman, and Sgt. Bassarath, and executed by Cpl DuBois, WPC Irish, WPC Gowrie and PC Khan.
